We don't have the keys yet. What we have is a vision, refined over years of conversations, travels, and one very specific feeling we've chased since a bar in New York first showed us what hospitality with a purpose could look like. Here's what we're imagining for Bequia — not a blueprint, but an invitation to picture it with us.
We didn't set out to build another beautiful place in the Caribbean. There are plenty of those already. We set out to build somewhere that actually does something for the people who come — a place where a solo traveler can reset on their own terms, where a small group can work through something a beach day alone can't touch, where a company can bring its team somewhere with no excuse to check out early, and where anyone can simply arrive, exhale, and feel like they've come home rather than checked in.
That's the difference we're building toward. Most hospitality is designed to impress you. We're designing for something quieter: a place with real intimacy, real rest, and a real reason for being here beyond the view. Every part of it — the bar, the pavilion, the bungalows, the quiet corners — exists to hold space for people who need more than a vacation, without ever losing the warmth of a good drink and a great story. And because The Holmestead is built by a nonprofit, every night you spend here is also work being done somewhere else — funding education, community development, and disaster relief on the island that made this possible. Come recharge. Come rest. Come as you are. Leave better than you came.
Picture a pool built for lingering — day pass guests, overnight guests, and Friends of the Holmestead all find their way here, and nobody's in a rush to leave. A dedicated pool bar keeps the day moving at its own pace: something cold in hand, no reason to go anywhere else.
This isn't just a place to float. Guest bartenders — some local, some visiting from far beyond Bequia — take over the taps some afternoons, turning an ordinary swim into the story you tell when you get home.
And every evening, as the sun starts to drop, the whole pool shifts into its ritual: sunset happy hour, the one appointment nobody wants to miss.
Where the day slows down without you noticing.

Picture an open-air pavilion, walls that fold back to the water on one side and close in tight on the other — because some mornings you want the ocean in the room, and some mornings you want total focus. Yoga at sunrise. A breathwork session that runs long because nobody's rushing you out. A retreat leader who flew in just to hold this space for a weekend.
Then picture the same room, transformed — chairs in rows, a retreat group deep in a session, or a company off-site quietly rebuilding whatever got frayed back home.
Imagine the version of you that actually unclenches.

Picture six to eight private spaces tucked along the hillside, each with its own deck and its own view of the harbor. Some nights they're rented one at a time — a couple, a solo traveler, a friend visiting for the weekend. Other times, imagine the whole cluster taken over at once: a retreat group, a milestone birthday, a family reunion that needed somewhere real to happen.
Imagine waking up somewhere that actually feels like yours.

Picture a room that never really has one job. Morning coffee at the coffee bar while the property wakes up. A stage that holds a musician in the evening and a workshop in the afternoon. Lounges built for whatever you need them for — reading in the corner, reflecting alone, or pulling three chairs together with people you just met.
Throughout the week, expect themed programming that turns an ordinary evening into something worth staying for — live music, game nights, gatherings built around nothing more than a good reason to be in the same room. This is the space that holds the property together, all day, every day.
Not just for the night. This is where the day gathers too.

Set apart from the bar and the pool, picture somewhere with no programming and no soundtrack — just water, air, and permission to be still. For the guest who needs quiet more than a cocktail menu, or just a place to sit before the day asks anything of them.
Throughout the week, expect themed programming that turns an ordinary evening into something worth staying for — live music, game nights, gatherings built around nothing more than a good reason to be in the same room. This is the space that holds the property together, all day, every day.
Imagine the five minutes you didn't know you needed.

Wellness travel isn't a passing trend — it's where hospitality is headed, and we're building The Holmestead with that fully in mind. Picture a solo traveler resetting on their own schedule. A small group working through something a beach day alone can't touch. A company that flew its team somewhere with no excuse to check out early. A retreat leader who finally found a space small enough to feel personal.
Full-property buyouts. Dedicated wellness programming. A place designed to remove every reason not to be fully present.
Interested in bringing a group, planning a retreat, or hosting a company off-site? We'd love to build something with you.
Imagine bringing your people here, and watching them actually arrive.
